Thinking of Joining Us?

Cantorion is a welcoming choir incorporating a wide range of ages and abilities.  Membership is open to anyone who enjoys singing and new members are always welcome from all voices but especially from tenors and basses.

We do not hold auditions but some sight reading ability may be helpful although you will find useful practice aids for the works we are performing on this website on the Members dropdown menu Practice Aids. If you are thinking of joining us why not come along to one or two rehearsals at the start of term to try us out?  You can Contact us for further information or advice.

Rehearsals

Our new Rehearsal Venue - Holy Trinity Church,  Spa Road,  Llandrindod Wells, Powys LD1 5EY is only "new" for rehearsal purposes as it is our main Concert venue.  Parking is available closeby, on the approach road and there are several other car parks in the vicinity.  We are so pleased to be in the centre of our namesake town.

Terms begin: Autumn in September; Spring in January; and Summer, after Easter.  Exact dates can be found at Members > Diary Dates

Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings.  Choir members are asked to come at 7.15 pm for a prompt 7.30 pm start.

Members are asked NOT to attend rehearsals if at all unwell eg suffering from cold, flu or Covid-like symptoms.

Latest  finish - 9.30 pm.

Subscriptions

The current subscription is £165 for three terms - Autumn £65, Spring £65;  Summer £35;  with several payment options available. It is waived for students and those 25 and under for the 1st year.  The fee includes most, but not all score hire.  Other events such as Workshops or Come and Sings are usually subject to additional charges.  If you are a tax payer we would, as a Charity, be grateful if you would consider signing-up to the Gift-Aid scheme which brings in additional income for Cantorion.  If meeting the current fees is a problem - the Treasurer can help - we do not believe that financial issues should prevent anyone singing.
